Glenholme Steps Installation
September 30 - October 6, 2007
Chalked on the risers of the Glenholme steps - an ode to Toronto’s upstairs.
From the top nothing was visible but the two delicate blue lines of the lower railings, wrapped in fabric the colour of water. From below, you could read your way up the stairs and rekindle your awareness of topography and location.
Those who wished could take a small blue ribbon to mark their ascent, and tie it to the lightpole at the top.
It lasted a week, and disappeared in an autumn downpour.
Art @ Liberty gratefully acknowledges the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council.
